Rainbow Arts ported the game to MS-DOS along with the first game, in a package titled " Earthworm Jim 1 & 2: The Whole Can 'O Worms". The Genesis version was released in Japan exclusively via the Sega Channel service. They were released virtually simultaneously and were largely the same game, the only differences being that the Super NES version had alternate background art, and the ability to switch weapons. The game, much like the first, was developed for the Sega Genesis and then ported over to the Super NES. It was released in late 1995 and early 1996 depending on region and video game console, initially being released for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo Entertainment System, before being ported to other platforms. In my opinion, this is a better game than the original, which is why I'm jumping in with the sequel. Fortunately for us, the viewer, the game's sound, graphics and humor held up well over time. but you have to imagine that surface being the underside of a second-grader's desk: covered in dried gum, boogers, and jokes about barnyard animals. Sure, on the surface, it's another rescue-the-princess platformer. Earthworm Jim 2 (this game! right here!) delivers on all of these, and the gameplay is pretty good to boot. ![]()
